Kach you!

I don't know if Kach (כ"ך) is pronounced [katsh] or [kakh]--you know, that spitting 'H' should that English-speaking people can't make. I don't think it's pronouced like 'caulk' with a silent 'L'. I could always ask a Kach-sucker. I won't mention the meaning of Kach. I could be accused of being anti-Semantic.

I went to Wikipedia where I saw the symbols of the Kach/Kahane Chai (כהנא חי‎) movement and the Jewish Defense League. Can you spot the differences?

Kahane Chai (KACH) is listed as a terrorist group by the government of Canada.

Red Tory makes in interesting comment about the JDL:

[I]t’s interesting to note that in its report, Terrorism 2000/2001, the FBI referred to the Jewish Defense League as a “violent extremist Jewish organization” and stated that the FBI was responsible for thwarting at least one of its terrorist acts.

The "coincidence" you mentioned is simply because Rabbi Meir Kahane established both the Jewish Defense League and later (after he made Aliya, or moved to Israel) the Kach Party. Kahane Chai was created after Meir Kahanes assassination in 1990. It was created by his son, Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane. He and his wife were also assassinated in 2000.

P.S. just to be politically correct the Jewish Defense League doesn't have a "flag", rather he picture you provided is their symbol.

Feel free to reply.
