I personally don't think the name-issue will go away. I do think that the party executive will quietly rebrand the party as the new Democrats of Canada/les néo-Démocrates du Canada. Heck, the party insiders changed the colours of the website to a conservative blue background with an essence of orange. The NDP delegates didn't vote on the colour change last week at the Halifax convention.
The BC NDP ran under the blue and orange label. The Alberta NDP is sometimes known as the ND's. I wonder if that means the "Nudies." That's fine by me (SD). Jack Layton or the next leader can get together with the ND(P) executive, hire a marketing consultant and rebrand the party as the NDP Party (NDPP) if it so wishes.
Sports teams rebrand their logos.
Banks are now initials: TD, CIBC, RBC, BMO (Bank Montreal Of?).
I do like a comment someone left on a blog. Paraphrasing, the Conservatives are building a better yesterday for tomorrow.
Did anyone notice that the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario is just the PC Party?

I like the "Lily White" NDP.
Good one
LOL!!! love the colours.... nice take on this
Party colours are not in the constitution, so the party can do what they wish with those.
The name is. Branding can give them leeway though, if they wish.
